Ekabo! (Welcome)
At Ile Ifa Jalumi we are "Practitioners of Traditional Yoruba Culture, Religion, and Arts." We are an outgrowth and affiliate of Oyotunji African Village Lineage. We have active egbes (societies) for Ifa , Songo and Egungun. Ifa is the Yoruba divinity of knowledge, understanding, wisdom and destiny. Songo is the divinity of thunder, lightning and kingship. Egungun are our elevated ancestral hosts.
The Chicago Metropolitan Area was given the name Jalumi by His Royal Highness Oba Oseijeman Adefunmi I to commemorate events in Yoruba history. For more information on our history, please continue reading here <http://www.jalumi.com/history.htm>.
