     regarding correctness of worship and sacrifice

Known as Osetura in his capacity of approving and carrying sacrifices to heaven.
Recipient of a portion of every sacrifice.
Mischief maker.
Causes confusion.
Called Sigidi or Elegbara when being sent on a mission.
(Predominantly associated with evil things?)

(Cannot accept a subordinate position to any divinity, even Orunmila?)

SAYINGS

It is Esu that is moving him.
Esu, do not move me; it is another person’s child you should move.
That we may not experience the battle of Esu.
He has 200 names (meaning he’s hard to fix or unpredictable)

ORIKI

The indulgent child of heaven.
He whose greatness is manifested all over the place.
The hurrying, sudden one.
He who breaks into fragments and cannot be gathered together.

OTHER

Historic home is Ofa or Ketu.  He predominates now in Erin near Ilobu.
Shrine of  laterite, rock in a hard dish, earthenware pot upside down,
       graven image of clay or wood, may have a knife and club.
Resides at the crossroad, the entrance to a house, compound, village or town.
